Asian Beauty Favourites

I am a big fan of Asian beauty products, which I suppose isn’t that surprising given that I’m Asian. Asian beauty products tend to be cute, suited to my colouring and great value. Here are my all-time faves – I’m always on the lookout for more products to try, so if you have any recs please let me know!

The Face Shop White Jewel Peeling Gel – Peeling gels are my favourite way to physically exfoliate (they’re physical exfoliants, not chemical!). This one is my favourite so far – it’s not too scrubby, but not too weak, so it gives a gentle, thorough exodus of the dry peelies.

Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash-Off – I bought this thanks to Kerry’s (Skin & Tonics) review. While I’m not a fan of the huge scrubbing particles (they feel like they’re just scratching my face without actually removing dead skin), this mask’s base leaves my skin beautifully soft and hydrated. It also smells like strawberry jam.

Tony Moly Peach Lip Balm – To be honest the lip balm is really just average in performance. But the packaging is so cute, and the scent is so deliciously fruity, that I use it to death anyway!

Biore Aqua Base Watery Essence Sunscreen (reviewed here) – My favourite sunscreen. It’s high SPF, non-greasy, and rubs in like a dream. There are rumours that it’ll be released in PA++++ (higher than UVAPF 16) soon – I hope the texture stays the same!

Skin79 Hot Pink Super Plus BB Cream – This is my go-to foundation product. It hides uneven texture really well, and applies nicely with brushes, fingers or sponges.

Etude House Proof 10 Eyeshadow Primer – This eyeshadow primer is really good – better than Urban Decay Primer Potion in my opinion. It isn’t amazing for chunky loose glitters, but for mattes and standard shimmers it lasts all day. Holy grail product!

The Face Shop Lovely me:ex Design My Eyebrow (Auto) in #1 Grey Brown – This shade is fantastic – almost every brown eyebrow pencil I’ve had in the past has been way too red to look natural on me. It’s also got a spoolie on the end for rubbing out mistakes and blending in stray marks, which is sadly a must for me.

I’m actually in the middle of trying out a stupid number of Asian beauty samples – I’m hoping to find a few new favourites in there. There’ll be a mega-review post soon!

What are your favourite Asian beauty products? Tell me what to try next!

Yayyyyyy to this post! I’m forever curious about Asian beauty products but never know which ones to pick up. I have a little Asian cosmetics store near me that I’m always intrigued by, so I’ll have to go see if they have any of these products. I got my mum to buy me the Biore sunscreen when she was in HK. I haven’t tried it yet because I want to use up my Biore Perfect Face Milk, but I’m excited to! I love Asian brow products – my HG is the eyebrow powder from Dolly Wink. The shades are just on point – as they should be! I really want to try that eye primer now 🙂

Biore Perfect Face Milk is actually on my list because of its PA++++ – I’ve heard that it’s a bit oilier than Watery Essence though. I have a store near me that sells Dolly Wink, I’ll have to try their eyebrow powders! I’m using a Skinfood one that smells like chocolate but I’m not entirely sold on it. The primer is amazing!

I love the Skin79 BB Cream as well! It was my first Asian Beauty product ever so I’m always feeling a bit nostalgic when I’m using it XD
I’m currently loving the AHA & BHA Daily Clean Toner from Mizon, the Long & Curl superwaterproof Mascara from Heroine Make, Jeju Volcanic Clay Mask from Innisfree and the Tomato Jelly Tint Lip from Skinfood ^^

Good picks! As you already know, I really like that TFS brow pencil ^_^ There are quite a few items on your list that I want to try out sometime, especially the BB Cream.

The BB is fantastic! The formulation’s actually changed recently, so I’m not sure how it is anymore – I’ll have to do a comparison soon.

I’m seconding Tasha on the Biore UV Perfect Face Milk! I chose it over the UV Aqua because it’s a combo sunscreen, however I do still really like the Aqua and would definitely grab that if the UV Perfect Face isn’t available. Two Asian Beauty products I’m loving right now are the Apple Polyphenol My Beauty Diary sheet masks and the Hada Labo Shirojyun/Arbutin Whitening Lotion. The Hada Labo lotion really helps my skin with hydration without making me oilier than I already am, and has ingredients to help with my PIH.

I need to try Hada Labo – it was really cheap in Malaysia but my luggage was already checked in and the bottle was 200 mL 🙁 I have most of the MBD masks but tbh I can’t tell the difference between them, apart from maybe the scent!

Hey! I had a bottle of that skin79 bb cream too, and though I liked it a lot, the colour was weird. It had that grayish cast that was present in early, classic bb creams. I’m also super yellow, like you, and I was wondering how that played with your skin tone and how to possibly rectify it? Wondering if I should repurchase it. Haha

I don’t use much, and I use a yellow-toned powder on top. They’ve changed the formula recently though, so it might be different!
