As I’ve whinged before, eos balms do not play nice with my lips, even though I love the scents and the packaging. Revo lip balms are the latest brand to catch onto the bubble packaging, so I was pretty damn curious to see if they’d live up to my expectations. Here’s my review…

The big difference between Revo and eos is that Revo lip balms don’t shy away from petrochemicals, which I fully support – petrochemical-free balms just aren’t enough for my dry lips. My favourite balm, Nivea Repair and Protection, has waxes in spades.

The ingredients in the Watermelon Revo balm are:

Mineral Oil, Ozokerite, Petrolatum, Microcrystalline Wax, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Di-PPG-3 Myristyl Ether Adipate, Flavour, Isopropyl Myristate, Phenyl Trimethicone, Tocopherol, Sucralose, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Bismuth Oxychloride, Red 6 Lake (CI 15850).

Revo Lip Balms come in the same bauble-like screw top packaging as eos, but the outside doesn’t have the same grippy soft finish. This makes it feel a bit less stylish, but it’s probably a lot more durable as a result. It also has corners, if you can imagine a bauble with corners.

It comes in a variety of scents, and just like with eos balms, the balms contains sweetener which makes it kind of tasty, if you “accidentally” eat some. My favourite scents are watermelon, melon mint and coconut. There’s also cherry, “blue razzberry”, tangerine and strawberry.

I gave my friend a spare Melon Mint one, and he loved the tingly mint, the sugary flavour and the moisturising ability – the only complaint he had was that the round shape made it hard to keep it in the pocket of his jeans.

I’m pretty pleased with these, and they’re really budget-friendly: they come in at $4.99 for 7 g, which is a lot cheaper per gram than most drugstore lip balms! You can get them via The Beauty Office and Revo’s website.

  1. I’ve been curious about these, they sit at the registers at Priceline and seem to be pretty popular! I used to really like the EOS ones and I don’t know if it’s just particular favourites but I realised they really didn’t do much for my lips.

    • EOS did nothing for me either, and I’ve seen a lot of people agree – I think they just aren’t moisturising enough for most people!

  2. WOW, I’ve been a lip balm fanatic for 15 years. Can’t go a minute without lip balm or my lips dry. So having to wear lip balm all day everyday for 15 years means I’ve tried every brand & flavour available. Chapstick, Palmers, Revlon, Lucas Paw Paw, Nivea, Maybelline, Grace Cole, Lip Smackers, & the list goes on. But I received a free Revo ‘Melon Mint’ lip balm, & I’ll never buy another brand again. It’s so soft & moisturizing, but not greasy. Smell’s divine, & after application I got a cooling feeling on my lips. Perfect for hot weather. Not sure if the cooling effect was because the flavour had mint. But anyway, I’m hooked & going back to get all flavours!

  5. These are hands down my favorite lip balms especially the strawberry and the watermelon. I loved when they had them in the mini size perfect for pockets and on the go. I use to get mine from the local dollar store for $1 everytime I seen them I would buy all of them. Now I can’t find them anywhere and I have recently opened my last one. Found some on Amazon for $16 after shipping for 4 of them. Originally I would of only paid $4 for them but paid quadruple the price because I couldn’t find them any where else but I was ok with that because that’s how much i loved this balm can someone steer me in the right direction on where to find some. Especially the hot pink one (Strawberry) and even the green one (Watermelon)
