I’m a bit of a Grinch at Christmas (crowded shops, buying presents for people you don’t really like, overindulgence guilt, family dramas, endless gift guides – bah humbug!) but I can’t resist a bit/lot of Christmas themed nail art!
This is a simple, rather elegant design I did. I love jelly sandwiches, and Revlon Sheer Sugar has become my favourite polish to use for them. Two thin coats, then piCture pOlish Mardi Gras (teal, fuchsia and silver hex and dust glitters), then another two coats of Sheer Sugar gave a pretty jelly sandwich effect.
For the tree nail, I started with two coats of Sheer Sugar, then dotted China Glaze Glittering Garland for a fuzzy Christmas tree. I added some Mardi Gras on the tree as baubles, then dabbed a bit of Hello Darling 24K for the star.
Then of course I wanted to see it matte – matte jelly sandwiches always remind me of icing and sprinkles on a cake! 🙂
I still think I prefer it glossy though.
What nail art did/will you do for Christmas?
I’m exactly like you! I hate how crowded the malls (and the streets) get because of the holidays. And it doesn’t help that everyone is really mean and rude also! ‘Tis the season to be a jackass! But I love xmas nail art 🙂
So glad I’m not the only one haha – I feel like such a sulker!
Love the jelly sandwich combo! Ahh too cute. x)
Thanks – it worked better than I expected 🙂
Wow, that’s very pretty. I need to add Mardi Gras to my wishlist!
Thanks! The turquoise/pink combo is so pretty, but it’s definitely a topper, nowhere near dense enough to be worn by itself.
very pretty!
Thank you! 🙂
It looks adorable both glossy and matte. I am a Revlon polish fiend. I will have to look for Sheer Sugar.
It’s probably my favourite non-budget drugstore brand – they come up with some good ones! 🙂
So cute!
That is way cute <3
Such a cute Christmas idea! A bit more subtle than full-on glitterbomb polish (although that certainly has its place too).
The matte finish really makes the tree-glitter stand out!
Came out really cute – I also like that it’s not so in your face as many holiday manis can be – I like the shiny finish best.
I like the glossy version better too 🙂
That is so pretty! I never would have thought of that combo for Christmas, but it works so well for a wintery feel + ornaments!
