It Cosmetics has been featuring prominently in my makeup routine, with their yellow-toned Your Skin But Better CC+ cream and their easy-to-apply Bye Bye Redness concealer. I’ve recently added their new CC+ Blurred Lines Smooth-Fill Lipsticks to my rotation.

These lipsticks make a lot of bold claims:

  • never creases, cracks or feathers
  • colour and correct the tone and texture of your lips
  • hyaluronic filling spheres and collagen erase lines and wrinkles

On the lips, these remind me of a firmer version of Revlon’s Lip Butters – they’re moisturising and apply super smoothly, but surprisingly they do live up to the anti-feathering claim, even with the very bold It Girl! I was a bit concerned that the softness of the formula would make it difficult for It Girl to stay in place… but it works.

The packaging keeps in line with the rest of It Cosmetics’ products – the tubes are silvery white with subtle rainbow holo. Unfortunately I’ve found that the paint chips off pretty easily, which I think is unavoidable with holo – holo nail polishes are notorious for chipping off too.

Overall, I’m really impressed with these – if you’re after a sheer lipstick that doesn’t look too “made up”, these are a great choice. They’re available in Sephora Australia at a pretty reasonable $28 for a 3.4 g tube (trust me, that’s reasonable for Australia – Revlon is $22).

  1. Interesting that they’re so close in price to the Revlon Lip Butters in Australia. In the US, the IT lipsticks are $24, but the Lip Butters are only $8.50.

  2. It Cosmetics is always on my fave list! I was really curious about their new lipsticks, so I really appreciate your review. I really need anti-feathering formulas, because for some reason I always end up having lipstick on my teeth otherwise (and trust me, it’s not fun to look like a clown.) Though a bit on the pricey side, I think I’ll give them a try!
