empties

I haven’t done an empties post in a while after finishing off my Project Pan, but I’m back to collecting my trash in a bucket so I can take pretty photos at the end of the month. The life of a beauty blogger is sometimes indistinguishable from that of a weirdo freak cat lady…

One of my beauty must-haves are cotton buds – they’re so handy for fixing make-up and applying chemical peels. Swisspers Dual Cosmetic Tips are versatile with one paddle end and one pointed end, and most importantly, a rigid stem. There’s nothing worse than trying to use a cotton bud with a stem that keeps collapsing!

I’ve started trying to do one sheet mask and one clay mask a week. Princess Skincare Hyaluronic Acid Mask is a sheet mask with humectant (water-binding) hyaluronic acid as the feature ingredient, but unfortunately I don’t think hyaluronic acid does much for my skin.

I’ve been using more moisturiser lately with the drier weather. I’ve recently tried out Fountain Cosmetics Ideal Moisture, which was OK but I hate hate hate plant stem cell products (they sound sciencey but they’re pretty useless), and Eslor Firming Collagen Day Cream, which was way too strongly scented for me to keep using.

Korean cosmetics are my obsession right now – I tried a sample of Etude House Wonder Pore Corrector but it didn’t do much for me. Laneige Strawberry Yoghurt Peeling Gel was the product that made me love peeling gels, and I still use them as my preferred way of exfoliating.

Finally, I’m dumping The Vintage Cosmetic Company’s Nail File – the grit on this actually GROUND OFF as I filed my nails. I don’t know if this is just because my nails are just that awesomely strong, or if the company just didn’t test their nail files before putting them on the market… I’m going to guess the latter. It’s a pity because the designs is really pretty.

  1. Just found your blog after looking up a review for peeling gels! I tried my first one a couple nights ago and it’s fascinating watching the dead skin come off. Your post reminds me to use my sheet masks more often. They just sit there looking pretty at the moment. 😀

    • Heading into winter, I’m really appreciating peeling gels for getting rid of skin flakes right before putting on make-up. Thanks for stopping by!
