Australian indie polish brand Mckfresh Nail Attire is releasing a new collection this Thursday, the Sunnydale collection. Yes, it’s Buffy themed! There are 7 polishes in the collection, named after the main characters, and I have to say, I’m in love with the whole collection! They’re all deep, rich, complex colours with interesting particles, and frankly, they’re downright sexy. Are you ready?

(By the way, if you’re a fan of Australian indie polishes and you have Facebook, you should join this group for the latest news and releases!)

First up has to be Buffy! This beauty is a deep plum shade, with bronze flakes, holo dust, pink shimmer embedded in a black jelly base. It’s actually quite difficult to tell what’s in these polishes, because they’re so complex! Kate told me she almost didn’t include this in the collection, but it’s one of my favourites.

Next up is my favourite from this collection, Xander. Xander is a blurple-green duochrome with blue flecks and holo specks.

Another standout for me is Angel. This has the dreaded bar glitters… but they’re iridescent blue! I didn’t even notice them until I swatched it – I assumed they were large flakies. I generally avoid bar glitter, but this is an exception, along with China Glaze Marry a Millionaire and black-and-white toppers. The shimmery purple base makes them change colour at various angles. The base also contains little silver specks which stand out and look like stars.

Of course, there’s a holo in this collection! It’s Oz, and the base colour is a deep bronze. As with all holos, it’s best in full sun, and it’s not entirely linear but more holo-y than A-England’s holos (I don’t know how many more times I could squeeze “holo” into this sentence).

I love a good green polish, and Giles is the token green in the collection. It has a fleck finish, with iridescent blue/golden green sparkle. Again, a very pretty, sexy, complex shade.

Spike is a greenish-bronze polish with chunky silver shards in amongst various shimmers. There’s even some iridescent rainbow happening there in the sunlight shot!

Lastly, Willow is an elegant maroon shimmer, with sparse red glitter. It would be a favourite of mine in any other collection, but in this collection, it’s actually one of the polishes I found the least exciting! This is a very wearable, all-occasions polish.

Here’s a shot showing off the new Mckfresh labels I designed! I’m really proud that something I designed ended up on bottles of polish.

All of these were opaque in 2-3 coats, and come in the standard Aussie indie bottles, with easy-to-use brushes. I’m sure this collection isn’t for everyone, but it’s right up my alley! I rarely love every polish in a collection, but this is one of those times where I want to wear every polish for a week. Something about the rich, complex shades just grab me, and even though we’re heading into Spring here, I want to wear these vampies to death.

Mckfresh’s Sunnydale collection will be launching this Thursday (September 19) at 8 pm – you can read more updates on their Facebook page, or just stalk the shop!
