I’ve never been really into makeup, but I’m turning 25 in July (eek) and I realise that my crazy-makeup-looks-chic-and-not-scary days are numbered, so I’ve decided to start experimenting with what my boyfriend calls “facepaint”.

First off, I’m posting what my “normal” face looks like, with minimal photoshopping (contrast adjustments, cropping etc.). Now, I love my sleep way more than the average person, so I try to keep it simple and do most of my makeup on my hour-long commute (yeah, I’m one of those girls, sorry).

This is what I use – a lot of it’s ratty from rolling around in my handbag, sorry!

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream in No. 21 (with a little No. 23 mixed in during summer)
Maybelline Shine Free Loose Powder in Light
Really ancient Clinique blush in Extra Clover (soooo pigmented, when did blushes get lame and spineless? I’ve been using it daily for the past three years and I haven’t even hit the bottom of the pan)
Rimmel Exaggerate Eye Definer in Noir
Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain (old limited edition) in Very Berry
Nivea Repair and Protection lip balm

Get ready for some crazy warpaint soon! 🙂

  1. Ha, I sometimes do my lips and cheeks on the bus too, and pop on my tinted moisturiser or BB cream on at him (so I can wash my hands after).
I’m turning 25 in July too! I think I want to stay 24 forever though, 25 sounds so old!

    • Yeah, I do the BB cream and powder at home, people who see me before I get on the train must think I’m anaemic or something! 25 is a quarter century 🙁 Feels like a milestone!

  2. Ohmygosh, you are stunning!!! :O

I’m one of “those people” too! XD I love my sleep and I find a bus ride is less boring if you do your makeup on the trip, as it is something to do.

  3. Wow, if 25 is thought of as “old” then I feel like a geriatric at 38! Roll out the wheel chair! I cant wait to see what u come up with. I still have my limited edition lip stain also. I wish more companies would make them, they’re so versatile!

    • It’s just the whole quarter-century thing 🙁 When the news complains about “teenagers”, I still feel like they’re talking about me, but 25 is definitely non-teenager (which is probably a good thing).

It’s lasted me ages! Maybe that’s why it was limited edition, it’s just ridiculously good value 🙂 I have a Tony Moly lip stain to go onto afterwards, but it doesn’t smell fruity 🙁

    • Haha! When I drive on the weekend I often forget to do my makeup BEFORE getting into the car, which means I now have an intimate knowledge of which lights stay red the longest 😉

  4. Yay! Looking forward to seeing more!

And I can totally relate to the ratty tubes of make up from getting battered and beaten in the handbag!

    • Thanks! I’ve always been kind of self-conscious about my fat lips, but now that beestung lips are in, I feel genetically blessed! 🙂 I’m a tad worried that making them a feature would just make them look supersized, but I have a bright red lippy I’m dying to try out… soon hopefully! 🙂
