Almost a year ago, I posted about my everyday makeup routine. Since then, I’ve gotten ferncier, and here’s what my everyday look involves now:

FACE

Skin79 BB Cream – I’ve been slowly churning through a 4-piece mixed sample pack. This one’s supposedly whitening and improves wrinkles, but I don’t really care – it applies nicely without primer with just fingers, gives decent coverage, has SPF25 PA++ built in, and is budget friendly.

Benefit Fake Up in 01 Light* (original review) – All the concealers I’ve ever tried crease in my undereye area and this is no exception, but this one’s easy to apply out of the stick (my concealer brushes are usually the ickiest).

Skinfood Salmon Darkcircle Concealer Cream in Shade 2 – No, this doesn’t smell like fish! It’s a heavy coverage concealer that I bought online, and amazingly, with a lot of skin shade googling, it matches me well. I use this over spots and sometimes under the eyes if I can’t be bothered using two concealers.

Return of the big round face!

Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder – The name amuses me greatly (Noel Fielding, anyone?). It’s finely milled, and again, I colour matched this using Google instead of like a normal person (all NC25 everything!). Sometimes I use it alone, not because my skin is ah-muh-zang and I can get away with it, but because I simply blah.

LimeLily 4-Pan Palette – When I bought this at IMATS (original post here), I didn’t think it would be so handy, but then I got into contouring and all that ferncyness (still no eyebrow action though, thank god for the fringe). I originally bought Husk and Havana as eyeshadows, but they ended up being my contouring staples, when I want my nose to look skinnier. The creme blush (Harmony) doesn’t see much action, but the powder (Pomegranate) gets a bit of use. Hopefully they’ll be at IMATS again this year and I can nab a highlighting shade.

Mary Kay Sheer Dimensions Powder in Pearl (Opalescent)* – I’ve decided I prefer highlighting powder to my old favourites, Benefit High Beam and Face of Australia’s Angel Beam, because I know a powder will definitely not streak up the makeup underneath. This one’s a but more sparkly than I’d prefer, but it’s not that noticeable on.

BYS Blush in Coral – I love this pinky golden blush – it’s pigmented enough that I can swipe this on in a couple of strokes, and I’m the type who refuses to do subtle blush (you’d be the same if you had a freaky green undereye vein to distract from!).

I do special effects!

EYES

Girlee Cosmetics Black Eyeliner* – Still doing the blended black eyeliner look, but I’ve been trying to use up all the eyeliners I’ve accumulated, and I’m up to the ones that need a sharpener.

I’m currently too lazy to mascara most days, and I use false lashes for special occasions.

LIPS

Nivea Pure & Natural Lip Balm in Chamomile & Calendula* – I love Nivea lip balms for their longevity and moisturising qualities. This one has a strong herbal, slightly soapy scent, which is nice but puts me off food. I put this on first thing then wipe it off before I apply colour.

Models Prefer Lipliner in Clearly Sealed* – Lip liners scared me for a long time since I could never find one to match my lips, and I refuse to buy a different one for every lipstick. This clear lipliner is genius!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable in Honey – My favourite long lasting lip colour in a my-lips-but-better shade. I frequently use these under lipsticks.

NYX Round Lipstick in Doll – This is my newest lipstick obsession – it’s a very pretty, dark pink colour that’s very pigmented but still quite natural-looking.

Do you have different makeup staples for different seasons? Or do you use the same things all year round?
